Tremaine continues family legacy

The Little family name is synonymous with Fiji Rugby and Tremaine is ready to continue the legacy.

The 19-year-old flyhalf from Tokorua, Waikato in New Zealand is one of the five overseas players that have joined the Vodafone Fijian Under 20 rugby team preparing for next month’s Oceania Rugby Championship in Australia.

“My father played rugby for the country and as a young kid I grew up playing rugby as well,” Little said.

Tremaine is the son of former Flying Fijian Lawrence Little and cousin of former flyhalf Nicky Little with links paternal links to Yadua Village in Sigatoka.

“I started playing in New Zealand and since my Dad and Nicky came back to play for the country it has tied me back to Fiji, and it has been great.”

“It is a blessing, and being able to put in the work with these boys has been a learning experience, I have never played outside New Zealand and to play with these boys in Fiji has been an awesome experience.”

Little said he is looking forward to represent Fiji at the Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship if selected and was eager to face New Zealand, Australia and Argentina.

“They are going to be big games against big teams, but we have a great team too, and a ready to get things going.”
