U20 ready for championship: Rawaqa

Junior Flying Fijians Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa is confident he has picked a strong team that will stand against world-class opponents at the Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship next month.

29 players have been selected after strenuous training and scouting.

“I think the important thing for us is to play against the top-level opponents and set a standard so that the players understand the level required to match when facing overseas teams,” Rawaqa said.

“This will assist these players when they graduate to the national level in the future.”

France based lock’s Jeniro Wakeham and Petero Mailulu have been included as well as the Canberra based Waisea and Luke Tudulu brothers.

Another pair of brothers in Benji and Phillip Baselala have also made the cut.
