Waisega ready for Fiji

Netherlands based Sulita Waisega is ready to give her all for her country after being named in the Fijiana XV side.

The 18 year old loose forward will be joining her team mates this weekend after being one of five international players selected into the squad.

With women’s rugby on the rise Waisega is ready to be part of the journey.

'Women's rugby is on the rise', you've had the 'sevens' girls for a long time,” Waisega told The Hague.

They had been doing well internationally for a long time.'

“Playing for Fiji is twice as much fun for me.

It's something I've been looking forward to for a long time.”

Waisega moved to Netherlands with her parents when she was just three-years-old.

Being a new sport in the Netherlands, Waisega plays for the Haagsche Rugby Club and team as the are no girls rugby clubs.

“I'll be arriving on Sunday morning, Monday it already starts for me.

I can already start training and we have team building, that's one week of training camp with the girls.

The following week we fly to New Zealand.”

Waisega is hoping for a good performance this weekend to book her spot for the Rugby World Cup.
