Wakeham ready to share learnings

France based Fiji U20 lock Janeiro Wakeham says playing alongside stars in Stade Francais has taught him a lot of things which he is ready to share with teammates.

The Savusavu lad joined camp yesterday and is part of the squad currently preparing for the Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship.

“It has been an awesome experience and I have definitely learnt a lot,” Wakeham told FijiLive.

“It is a whole new world and very different experience from Fiji, and I look forward to sharing that knowledge with my team.”

The 2.08 metres tall ball jumper said training alongside seasoned Top 14 big names such France lock Yoann Maestri, Flying Fijians centre Waisea Nayacalevu and former All Blacks Ngani Laumape had made an impression.

“It is a very professional environment, and you have to perform.”

The former Fiji Warriors player who was once eyed by the Brumbies said he is eager to go over to Australia for the Oceania Championship.

“We have a strong side filled with a lot of good players, and we are ready to go out and enjoy ourselves as well as do our best.”
