Sivo, Blake score to down Eagles

Fiji Bati and Paramatta Eels pair Maka Sivo and Waqa Blake raked in a number of tries to dash the Manly Sea Eagles hopes of qualifying to the elimination rounds with a 36-20 win at Brookvale Oval yesterday.

The win saw the Eels move up top fifth place on the ladder ranging in on a securing a home decider in the finals round.

The teams were drawn 14-14 at halftime with Sivo getting the ball rolling with two tries within 10 minutes

Manly rallied in the latter stage of the half to reply with two tries through Tolutau Koula and Jason Saab both converted by Reuben Garrick who also added a penalty.

Tom Opacic added a third try for the visitors with Clint Gutherson converting to finish the half.

The Eagles began with a slight flourish with a try from Christian Tuipulotu, with Garrick adding a penalty soon after, their final points of the match.

The Eels ran in four more tries through Blake, Will Penisini, Dylan Brown and Gutherson who also added three more conversions to close out the win.
