We are on track, says Alaalatoa

Samoa skipper Michael Alaalatoa says they are in a good position to claim the 2022 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup title.

Speaking after their 34-18 comeback victory over Tonga in Lautoka today, Alaalatoa said their second half effort was remarkable but they knew Tonga will put on a good show.

“The boys responded well , we knew that Tonga would come strong after last week’s loss to Fiji,” Allaalatoa said.

Head Coach Seilala Mapusua backed up his captain saying a PNC title would be a great achievement.

“It would be really great to get that title, but we will just take it one game at a time,” Mapusua said.

Samoa play the Vodafone Flying Fijians in their final game next week.
