Injuries force key reps out of WCup

A number of experienced Fiji Bati players will miss next month's Rugby League World Cup in England due to injuries.

The likes of Tariq Sims, Kane Evans, brothers Daniel and Job Saifiti, Warriors finisher Marcelo Montoya and halfback Jo Lovodua are all out.

Coach Jo Rabele said they would make do with the players they have.

Rabele said they had expected injuries to happen in the build-up and were ready to have players fill the slots.

“It is unfortunate having injuries so late in the season, but it was expected as well,” Rabele told FijiLive.

“Injuries are part of the work and at times we cant avoid it, and will have to make due the best way we can.”

“We are also awaiting confirmation from Hull Kingston Rovers forward Korbin Sims.”

Rabele, team manager Tevita Koroisaya, Fiji Bati forward Pio Seci and assitant coach Jone Wesele fly out tomorrow to Australia.
