Likumotovai aims big IDC finish

Rewa midfielder Tabua Likumotovai is keen on seeing her team through to the Digicel Women's Inter-District Championship final but concedes her side has a lot to work on.

The hosts beat Nadroga 2-0 to cement their position on top of group B.

“It’s great to go through, but we still have a lot of work to do,” Likumotovai said.

“We still need to upgrade that finishing and make sure we finish our games strong.

The 20-year-old former national footballer said in the build-up to the tournament they had not focused a lot on their defence but mostly on their attack.

“We will have to change that going back and making sure we are strong on both sides of the game.

The young lass from Wainunu Village in Vanualevu believes her side can go all the way if they stick to their planning and trust each other.

“It will be big playing the other top teams, and no way does it get easier.

“But as a team, we can get the job done, and we look forward to doing just that.”
