Submission filed for name change of park

Nadi Town Council acting chief executive Muni Reddy has confirmed that a submission has been filed with the Ministry of Local Government to change the name of Prince Charles Park.

Reddy told FijiLive that the council is in talks with the Ministry to change the name of Prince Charles Park to King Charles Park this year.

This follows the coronation of Charles III as king of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms on 6 May at Westminster Abbey.

Reddy said the submission was filed recently and they are also in discussion with the British High Commissioner to Fiji Brian Jones in changing the name of the venue.

He said they are waiting for the response from the Minister of Local Government and Commissioner Jones.
