142 Team Fiji athletes and officials landed safely in the Solomon Islands yesterday evening for the 2023 Pacific Games that begins next Monday in Honiara.
Team Fiji reached Honiara in two flights and received a warm welcome from the host nation.
The Republic of Fiji Military Forces stationed in Honiara together with the Games Organising Committee escorted Team Fiji to their Games Village at Saint Nicholas College.
The sporting divisions that have travelled in the first wave for the first week of competition include Table Tennis, Football, Rugby 7s, Rugby League 9s, Karate, Volleyball, Para-athletics, Basketball, Archery, Weightlifting, Swimming, Tennis and Golf.
Team Fiji kick starts their competition on Friday, participating in Basketball, Football, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
Meanwhile, the Pacific Games opening ceremony will be held on Sunday at the National Stadium in Honiara.
