Toddler is latest drowning victim

A one-year-old boy is believed to be the latest drowning victim in the country after he was found floating at the Navosai creek yesterday afternoon.

In a statement, Police said the child was allegedly playing with a cousin outside their Narere home when he disappeared and was later found in the creek.

They said the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident are under investigation.

Police said this is the second incident involving a child this week, and investigators will be looking into the element of negligence.

Police are again calling on parents and guardians to please monitor and closely supervise the movement of children at all times as we head into a public holiday tomorrow and also as the school holiday continues, as accidents can occur at any given time.
