The Tuva Rugby 7s side suffered an unlucky blow and conceded their only win in the pool games at the McDonald’s Coral Coast Sevens for fielding an unregistered player.
After losing its first two games on day one, Tuva surprised the crowd to bounce back and win its final pool game against Pio Tuwai’s Pacific Nomad by 19-12.
However, after a complaint lodged by the Nomad officials, it was confirmed that Tuva had fielded an unregistered player.
The Pacific Nomads notched a default win as a result.
Meanwhile, Savenaca Rawaca and Semi Kunatani’s Kwaiyata Yamacia failed to declare the inclusion of their 13th player after losing a team member to injury during their 17-14 win against Wardens in pool play.
Yamacia conceded the win seeing them relegated to the bowl quarterfinals alongside Tuva Rugby.
