Uluinakau, Raiwasa Taveuni progress to quarters

Uluinakau staged a brilliant performance and defeated Raiwasa Taveuni 14-0 in their last Pool D match of the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka today.

Both the teams after two games had 6 points each but after Ulinakau’s third win, they enter the quarterfinal as pool winners while Raiwasa are runners-up.

Great teamwork in Uluinakau saw flyer Rupeni Rakase score the opening try of the match and he also converted for a 7-0 lead.

Despite Raiwasa putting up some smart play in their backline to stop Uluinakau from gaining more points, Nemani Taganevou had some other plans and he bulldozed through the defence to reach the try line.

Rakase was just too good with his conversion to give the side a 14-0 lead at half time and the teams remained scoreless in the second half.
