Valemei named in Raiders final squad

Fijian winger Semi Valemei has been named in the Canberra Raiders 2023 National Rugby League (NRL) final squad after a marvelous performance this year.

Valemei’s rise in 2022 saw a spirited revival in the second half of the season as the Raiders climbed back into the finals but fast-forward to their next campaign and Ricky Stuart’s men will be optimistic for the future.

The Green Machine is one of the few clubs who have nearly filled their top 30 rosters before a ball has been kicked with several household names likely to miss Round 1 given the depth that Stuart has at his disposal.

On paper, the Raiders have a team capable of doing plenty of damage next season but like all teams, will want a bit of luck on the injury front to help them get back to the top.

Raiders: Xavier Savage, Nick Cotric, Matt Timoko, Seb Kris, Jordan Rapana, Jack Wighton, Jamal Fogarty, Josh Papalii, Zac Woolford, Joseph Tapine, Hudson Young, Elliott Whitehead, Corey Harawira-Naera, Tom Starling, Emre Guler, Pasami Saulo, Corey Horsburgh, Jarrod Croker, Albert Hopoate, Ata Mariota, Brad Schneider, Trey Mooney, Clay Webb, Harley Smith-Shields, James Schiller, Matt Frawley, Peter Hola, Semi Valemei, Adrian Trevilyan
