A Fijian voter suffered a cardiac arrest while waiting in line to cast his vote and later died whilst being transported to hospital.
Confirming the incident, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said it was an unfortunate event and sadly this had to happen today.
Without divulging much information, he passed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
Saneem said other than this incident, the polling day did not record any other hiccups.
