Fijiana 7s open to including Drua reps

Fijiana 7s Head Coach Saiasi Fuli has indicated that players from the Fijian Drua Women’s team could potentially join the national 7s squad for the upcoming Olympics.

The selection process remains open, welcoming players interested in representing Fiji.

“Everyone is in our long list. The issue now is that we have to manage properly both programs,” stated Fuli.

With the Fijian Drua 15s focused on their World Cup qualifier in June, this remains their main priority.

However, the door remains open for these athletes to join the 7s squad post-June.

“For the Fijiana Drua 15s, they have their main World Cup qualifier in June, so right now that is the main priority for them,” Fuli explained.

Post-World Cup qualifiers, the Fijiana 7s team is open to roping in players from the Drua as well as considering other interested overseas players.

“After June we can rope in players from Drua, and there are some other overseas players that are interested.”
