Tikoisolomone happy to be back

Fiji-born Highlanders winger Vereniki Tikoisolomone is happy to be back in the country and play for his former club Raiwasa Taveuni in the McDonald’s Coral Coast Sevens this year.

The 24-year-old from Taveuni who sprung onto the scene for Taranaki during the 2022 Bunnings National Provinicial Cup said sevens in the country has risen to another level and it is great to watch.

“It is good to be back in the country and try my hand at playing sevens again,” Tikoisolomone said.

“Sevens back home never disappoints because the talent is immense and keeps on building.

“The teams prepare different now, which is great to see.”

Tikoisolomone who is currently taking a break from Super Rugby said he came over in the holidays and was looking to build on his game time in the country before heading to a different destination abroad.

“I’m just building some game time, and then I’ll be headed to the United States for six months.

“For me it’s always about learning, and I will look to get back into Super Rugby next year.”
