Fiji Airways expands footprint in North America

An exciting new partnership has been announced by Fiji Airways to increase its footprint in North America, and make it easier for visitors to reach Fijian paradise.

The national airline has signed an interline agreement with Toronto based Porter Airlines, which provides services in Canada and the United States of America.

The agreement means visitors will only need one ticket to book and fly from airports serviced by Porter Airlines and connect onto their Fiji Airways flights out of Vancouver, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive, Andre Viljoen said their bookings to and from North America have been strong, collectively making up the second largest group of visitors to Fiji in 2023.

“Many of these guests are flying in from other cities to catch our flights out of the three ports that Fiji Airways serves. We are excited to launch this interline partnership with Porter Airlines which creates easier access, and more travel options for customers
travelling to and from the important and growing list of markets Porter serves,” he said.

Porter Airlines with more than sixty fifty aircraft in its fleet provides services to more than 30 destinations across Canada and the United States, with hubs in Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, and Halifax.

Passengers flying on Fiji-Porter itineraries can connect in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Vancouver.

“This partnership means that families in various parts of the two countries can realistically consider a holiday in Fiji. Fiji is an ideal holiday destination for anyone looking for sun, sand, sea with a vast variety of local experiences and culinary delights. Paradise is closer
than you thought possible.”

Viljoen said guests also won’t have to book separate flights and carry their luggage
from one check-in counter to another because our agreement with Porter Airlines take care of all that in one ticket.

Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Porter Airlines, Edmond Eldebs, stated, “This new partnership offers passengers seamless connections between Fiji Airways and Porter at key locations along the West Coast of North America. It improves access for Canadians to destinations across the Pacific, and for passengers originating on Fiji flights to reach points across Eastern Canada.”

For Fijians wanting to holiday in North America, or spend time with family and friends, this partnership is the perfect solution providing seamless onwards connections to thirty locations across Canada and the United States.
