The Fijian Elections Office has received three complaints against Attorney-General Siromi Turaga, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, and Minister for Women and Children Lynda Tabuya.
The Acting Supervisor of Elections Ana Mataiciwa said that all three complaints are related to very senior leaders and were complex given the volume of documents submitted with it and the overseas jurisdiction with which some of the allegations of breaches are believed to have been committed from.
Speaking to FijiLive Mataiciwa said the FEO is of the position that some of the allegations contained in the complaint may be probable breaches relating to the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013. Therefore, under section 18 of the Electoral Act 2014, the FEO referred the complaints to the Fijian Independent Commission Against Corruption yesterday, Friday 05 April 2024.
FEO has referred all questions relating to the matter to FICAC.
FijiLive has reached out to all three of the Ministers; however, have refused to comment on the matter.
