Good feedback from business community

The Minister for External Trade Manoa Kamikamica says last week’s symposium organised by the Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission was very forthcoming and hailed a success.

Kamikamica said that it was pivotal for business communities to meet and interact on a forum that enhanced growing Fiji’s economy as a whole.

He said a lot of opportunities were derived from the symposium, and feedbacks were that everybody was glad that there was a government more respectful and willing to engage.

“We have a government that is pro-business together and at the same time wanting to move the economy forward. This was key for us,” Kamikamica said.

The Minister for External Trade also highlighted that investors move based on the actions of the government.

He said if the government is obstructive, investors run away.

“The government is trying to be positive and helpful at the same time. We are also trying to streamline our processes.”

“Government is trying to focus on the aspect of ease of doing business and at the same time the cost of doing business was pivot and key,” he added.
