PM applauds civic-minded action of youngsters

Prime Minister Sitiveni  Rabuka has applauded the effort of two young boys who he spotted picking up rubbish after the Drua matches at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

Rabuka said he was touched by the true spirit of community and environmental stewardship.

“A big vina’a va’alevu sara to 13-year-old Irinimo Kautitubuna and 12-year-old Sakiusa Volotui for taking the initiative to pick up rubbish after the Drua matches.”

“Among the spectators, I saw these two young boys picking up rubbish even as they became a little soaked from the rain.”

“Kudos to these young lads for their efforts in keeping our environment clean.”

The Prime Minister said he admires their generous civic-minded actions and is certain they will become good environment ambassadors in future.

“As someone who is passionate about environmental stewardship, to always leave every place I visit better and cleaner if possible, I was deeply moved by their community spirit.”

“Let’s continue to instill these values in our children.”
