Bainimarama is a hypocrite, says Narube

Unity Fiji Leader Savenaca Narube says Opposition Leader Voreqe Bainimarama is a hypocrite and is being selective with his memory.

Narube has launched a series of attacks on the former Prime Minister for making wild allegations against the Coalition Government.

He said that Bainimarama and his FijiFirst Government did far worse on matters that he now claims the Coalition Government is doing.

“There is only one person worse than a hypocrite, and that is a hypocrite that does not know what he is talking about. Bainimarama must truly think that we are fools.”

“Conditioned by the praises of people that were using him using in the last 16 years, he thought that we believed anything that he said. Well, it is obvious to me that Bainimarama is still in denial with his steep fall from power.”

The former Governor of the Reserve Bank said he is certain that Bainimarama will quickly come to realise that he has very little influence, no power, and no friends.

“The best reaction that we can give to this hypocrite is to quickly investigate the numerous allegations of corruption, abuse of office, nepotism, abuses of human rights, intimidation, harassment, and other misbehaviours.”

“These investigations will confirm what many people believe is Bainimarama’s legacy to Fiji which is not the imposed 2013 Constitution, but the destruction of the spirit of our beautiful nation, fear tactics, removal of independence of key institutions, inhumane treatment, alleged corruption, and a near bankrupt nation.”

Narube said Bainimarama has asked for people to contact the Fiji First Party if their positions are under threat.

He said the Coalition Government could in turn ask whistleblowers to come forward to help them uncover the sins of the previous Government.

“Once these investigations reveal their findings, I am confident that Bainimarama will be singing a different tune from what he is barking today. The saddest part is that he may be singing solo with no one by his side.”
