The Public Service Commission has appointed Parmesh Chand as the new Acting Permanent Secretary for Civil Service and Public Enterprises.
Susan Kiran has moved to the Cabinets Office as Secretary to Cabinet.
Chand, who unsuccessfully contested the 2022 General Election under the People’s Alliance banner is no stranger to the position.
He has worked at senior levels in Fijian public service as CEO for public enterprises and public sector reforms, permanent secretary in the PM’s Office, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Sugar and Ministry of Home Affairs and also served as permanent secretary for Public Service in Fiji and was the director of Pacific Islands Centre for Public Administration based at the USP.
