Draft NDP expected by next month

The draft National Development Plan is expected to be submitted to Cabinet by the end of next month.

Cabinet during its meeting yesterday in Suva was provided with an update by the Ministry of Finance on the consultations undertaken for the development of the new National Development Plan (NDP).

Nationwide public consultations were conducted all across four divisions from 14 February till the end of March 2024 with around 330 meetings covering a population of more than 21,000 people.

Additionally, a total of 128 written submissions have been received from the general public through email, post and office visitation.

Based on the feedback and to resolve the basic issues on the ground that affect people’s lives daily, the new NDP will be guided by the concept/theme of “getting the basics right”, especially within the 3-year period, which will focus on enhancing the provision of necessities that can tangibly improve the quality of life of ordinary Fijians.
