Fiji bounce back to beat Canada

The Fiji 7s team bounced back to finish second in Pool A after beating Canada 36-17 in Cape Town this morning.

After a slow start, Fiji soon commanded racing in six tries to their opponent’s three.

Fiji trailed at the break 10-12 after Canada edged in front with two tries from Josiah Morra and Phil Berna with Brock Webster’s conversion making the difference.

A try each to Filipe Sauturaga and Paula Nayacakalou ensured the Fijians kept in touch by the break.

Fiji ran in four more tries through Pilipo Bukayaro, Nacuqu and a double from Manueli Maisamoa to secure the lead, with Nacuqu also adding three conversions.

Canada scored a consolation try through Morra to end the score tally.
