Fijian officers support security ops in Solomon Islands

Fijian Police and Republic of Fiji Military Forces officers are supporting regional efforts for the safe conduct of the Solomon Islands Elections.

The Fijian delegation made up of 80 RFMF personnel and 20 Police officers is working alongside the Australian Federal Police.

The Fiji Police Force is providing a specialist tactical team from the Police Mobile Force, as part of its long standing commitment to supporting capability development via a ‘by the Pacific, for the Pacific’ approach.

Fiji’s deployment is consistent with regional Policing efforts under the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation through collaboration, sharing of resources, capabilities, and operational engagement.
