The Social Democratic Liberal Party’s Management Board has withdrawn its ultimatum for Education Minister Viliame Gavoka to relinquish his position and have Aseri Radrodro reinstated.
This decision was reached during the Party’s AGM in Suva today.
Gavoka said newly appointed Leader Radrodro has indicated that he is happy to lead the as a backbencher in Parliament.
He said he is confident Radrodro will lead SODELPA well as he is an experienced politician and has the support of Party members.
“SODELPA is in good hands for the 2026 General Election and I wish the new leader and the party executives and supporters all the best for the coming years,” said Gavoka.
Meanwhile, following the official endorsement as the Leader of the Party, Radrodro said he is content to serve in Parliament as a backbencher and his main focus now is to lead SODELPA in the next election and develop strategies which will see their resurgence in Fijian politics.
