Nasinu’s return to the 2024 Digicel Fiji FACT after a prolonged absence has sparked hopes of a strong showing.
President Jagindar Singh said the qualification came as a surprise for many.
“I think many of us were not expecting this result, to win the last two rounds of games but we pulled through,” he told FijiLive.
“It’s a fair draw, both the pools are actually tough, it’s a tough competition so we will look out for that, we will try to turn the tables around and prove that Nasinu is a team to beat.”
Singh sees this tournament as a great opportunity for the team, as nearly 90 per cent of the players will be experiencing Fiji FACT for the first time.
“We have a very young side, our youngest player turned 15 this year, we will be playing against the big boys and it’s a big opportunity since almost 90% of the boys will be playing for the first time in this competition so it will be a good competition for everyone.”
Singh called for strong support from Nasinu’s fans, urging them to come out in numbers to cheer for the team.
He also appealed for sponsorship, stating that Nasinu is currently without a sponsor.
