Govt is doing its best to support businesses: Prasad

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad says the Coalition Government is doing its best in supporting businesses in the country.

Speaking during the budget consultation with the Lautoka Chamber of Commerce along with ratepayers, Prof Prasad said issues brought about during such consultations will be very helpful when preparing the next budget.

Issues raised by the attendees included tax incentives for businesses, upgrade of medical facilities, improved FRCS services and the need for more attention to be drawn to those in need.

Prof Prasad also met with members of the public at the Sugar City Mall car park and encouraged them to speak up as the consultation process is a platform for everyone to have their views and issues heard.

Issues raised by members of the public included the Tertiary Loan scheme, termite infestation around Lautoka, deteriorating of Government quarters and recent crimes around the area.

The Minister also assured them that all views will be addressed by the relevant authorities.

Budget consultations continue in Ba and Tavua today.
