Fiji’s U15 side were the talk of the town with Sisilia Kuladina leading the charge, netting five goals in a 13-0 rout over Tonga at at the OFC U-15 Development Tournament in Lautoka.

14-year-old Kuladina, along with team captain Shaniya Singh, are the only two from the Young Kulas (U16) lineup currently in the Digicel Fiji U15 girls’ development team.

former National Kulas representative and now Head of Women’s Development – West, Louisa Simmons coached the team for this game and brought in her expertise and former playing experience to the forefront.

The match against Tonga was a nerve-settling moment for many in the squad, experiencing their first taste of international competition.

The scoring spree included a hat trick from Emele Vunivalu, a brace from Teonila Levuiciva, and additional goals by Shaniya Singh, Kalisi Dama, and Vilimone Batirerenga, rounding out an impressive 13-0 performance.

Speaking to FijiLive, Kuladina praised the coaching staff’s effective sideline guidance, which has been helpful in directing the relatively inexperienced team through the match.

“The coaches are pretty good with the girls, they guide us through from the sidelines during matches and we listen,” she said.
