Ministry looks to boost sports tourism

The Ministry of Youth and Sports held a key meeting with representatives from Sports Worx Limited at the Fiji Sports Council office to discuss strategies for enhancing sports tourism in Fiji.

The key objectives included raising the quality of sports infrastructure to attract international events and creating opportunities for local athletes to shine globally.

The initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader vision to position Fiji as a preferred destination for sporting events.

Sports Minister Jese Saukuru and the Fiji Sports Council, represented by Acting CEO Gilbert Vakalalabure, deliberated on possible collaborations with Sports Worx Limited.

This collaboration with Sports Worx Limited is seen as a crucial step towards making Fiji a hub for sports tourism, benefiting both the local athletic community and the broader sports sector in Fiji.
