This year’s Girmit celebration promises to deliver thrilling sports competitions at Nadovu Park, Lautoka.
The Sanatan Dharam Pratanidhi Sabha of Fiji will host the Girmit Tournament from May 11th till May 13th which will include soccer and netball competitions.
The sports festivities will commence at 10 am on Saturday, with the Minister for Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru officiating the opening ceremony.
In addition to team sports, the event will include an open golf competition that is expected to draw both Fiji’s professional golfers and over 130 amateur participants.
The golf competition will see a substantial cash prize of $20,000 for the professional category, while amateur golfers will vie for a prize pool of $8,000.
These prizes are sponsored by Extra Supermarket and Fiji Professional Golf Association.
