The FijiFirst Party is calling on the Coalition Government to prioritise the Fijian people and stop its political theatrics.
Acting General-Secretary Faiyaz Koya said the Government’s reliance on gas lighting tactics to maintain a positive narrative is unhelpful.
Koya said in the past 14 months, life in Fiji has become increasingly challenging for ordinary Fijians due to a significant rise in taxes, exacerbating the already sharp increase in the cost of living.
He said this adds to the troubling trend of people openly defying the law, claiming impunity from police intervention, which has instilled a climate of fear in what was once a prosperous nation.
The Acting General Secretary said Fiji is yet to see what benefits have come from the economic policies that the Government says that it has implemented to stimulate the economy.
Koya said it is the Government’s duty to make life easier, which unfortunately is a foreign concept to them.
“Under the current Government, life seems to have become harder for many, with benefits only to a select few,” he said.
He is urging the Government to foster unity amongst all, and build a stronger sense of community where everyone can prosper and grow.
