Fiji U15 Girls through to OFC Finals

The Digicel Fiji U15 girls’ have secured their spot in the OFC U15 Girls Development Tournament final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tahiti at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba today.

Tarusila Maivunidawa was deemed as the standout player, scoring the game’s only goal in the 21st minute by dribbling past three defenders to secure the lead for Fiji against a traditionally strong Tahiti side.

This win is particularly meaningful for the Fijian side as Tahiti has always been a challenging opponent.

The rivalry was evident last year when Fiji’s U16 girls team which had current U15’s Sisilia Kuladina and Shaniya Singh, edged out Tahiti 3-2 in a thrilling match during the 2023 OFC U-16 Women’s Championship.

The final showdown is set for Tuesday, May 14, at 4 PM at Churchill Park in Lautoka, where Fiji will face the winner of Group A.
