Koster impressed with young Pearls

Netball Fiji chief executive Vivian Koster is impressed with young players in the Fiji Pearls squad who finished second at the Singapore Nations Cup 2022 this month.

Koster said the young players are stepping up while the Pearls are building up for the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.

“We have a number of players who are quite young. Some who received their first cap at the nations cup and I think they really stood up at this nations competition,” she told Fijilive.

“So for us it’s such a great indicator of the pool that we are starting to build players it also puts everyone else on notice.”

“They’ve got these games under their belt. They are gonna fight for their positions at the World Cup so when you have a set of players who can do that, there’s just nothing wrong with it, it’s a great thing to be in.”

“Nations Cup has been excellent for us in terms of the preparations for the World Cup.”
