Mariah Carey ends relationship with Tanaka

Her name is perhaps one of the most mentioned during the festive season.

Her ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ has become the biggest emblem of modern Christmas. It even gives the impression that Mariah Carey lives only for and because of this holiday.

But this year, the American singer is in the news for more than just Christmas celebrations. Her relationship with Bryan Tanaka has come to an end after more than seven years together.

Carey met the creative director after announcing her 2016 break-up with James Packer. Rumors of the couple’s split were spread by People magazine. The American magazine claimed that Tanaka did not accompany the artist on her last tour.

It also claimed that a source very close to the singer affirmed that Carey would spend Christmas with her two children, but without Bryan’s company.

PageSix published an article today, December 21, 2023, confirming the breakup. There was also a significant amount of information which detailed the reasons behind the split.

According to this magazine, the age difference would have played a fundamental role for both of them to have decided to take a step aside and end their relationship. Mariah, at 54, is 14 years older than the creative director.

The American artist has become the iconic figure of the festive season

Rare is the December day that a Westerner does not hear Carey’s song at some point. Despite the 30 years that have passed since its release, the song continues to bring in an incredible amount of revenue for the American.

The song has more than 1.5 billion plays on Spotify and more than half a million on YouTube.

Every Christmas, Mariah Carey is understood to bring in around 30-50 million euros in royalty payments.
