Department of Immigration to go cashless

From January 29, the Department of Immigration will no longer accept payments made either by cash or cheques at all its Immigration Offices.

In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration said the only acceptable modes of payment will be either through M-Paisa or EFTPOS.

This is in line with the Government initiative for a cashless system to ensure effective and efficient management of public funds, as well as to promote transparency and accountability.
