Lami police intercept vehicle carrying drugs

A team from the Lami Police Station upon receiving information of alleged drug-related activities intercepted a vehicle yesterday where a bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana were found.

In a statement, Divisional Police Commander South, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Wate Vocevoce said the officers were conducting mobile patrol when they received information regarding the vehicle and its occupants nearing Suvavou.

Officers intercepted the vehicle conducted a search, and found a bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

SSP Vocevoce said the four occupants were arrested and remain in custody at the Lami Police Station.
