Drua Women focus on immediate task

Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Head Coach Mosese Rauluni is keeping the team focused on the immediate task rather than the possibility of securing a home semifinal.

Rauluni said it is important to take each game as it comes, particularly against a determined Rebels team.

“We are not even thinking about the final, we have to be worried about this game. The Rebels will be hurt from losing to the Reds, they’re a good team, they’ll fight until the end,” he said.

Rauluni said that while the team’s current standing is favorable, their primary goal is to win without getting distracted by the allure of bonus points.

“It’s a good situation to be in, like where we are placed. But we don’t want to worry about bonus points, and we just want to win.”

Rauluni’s strategy is to maintain a strict focus on executing their game plan efficiently.

“What we have to think about is our processes this weekend, doing the right thing not going away from our game plan, get the points on the board every time we get into their 22, come out with a win then we’ll worry about the semis,” Rauluni added.

Drua Women will play the Rebels at 7.05pm tonight at the AAMI Park in Melbourne.
