Injury ends Baselala’s season with Drua

Young scrumhalf Phillip Baselala will not part of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s campaign this season after picking up a wrist injury.

Coach Mick Byrne said it is unfortunate to lose Baselala as he would have stepped up and played during regular halfback Frank Lomani’s suspension.

“Phillip got injured while playing for the U20s and is out for the remainder of this season.”

“We really wanted him to step up and play but now he needs to undergo treatment and rehab.”

Byrne said former Rebels and Reds scrumhalf Moses Sorovi joined the team last Friday as a cover and is training well.

Sorovi has signed a short-term contract with the team.
