Youngster Reuben joins Silktails

The Kaiviti Silktails have signed another young prospect in Isaiah Reuben for the 2023 Ron Massey Cup season.

The former Marist Brothers High School student spent two years with the Canberra Raiders and Melbourne Storm pathway systems between 2019 to 2021.

He linked up with the Silktails and begun off-season training in Lautoka this week.

Head Coach Wes Naiqama said he is impressed with Reuben’s abilities and attitude during this time.

“Really pleased to sign a player of Isaiah’s calibre,” Naiqama said.

“At 19, he’s had a wealth of experience playing abroad, having been recruited from Marist Brothers (Suva) as a 16-year-old to play for the Melbourne Storm SG Ball.”

“He also spent some time playing Rugby in France before returning home. Isaiah adds size and speed to our edge and will add great depth to our back-row.

I’ve been impressed with his attitude during pre-season and look forward to working with him this year.”

The Silktails Senior Sponsor and Player of the Match Partner, Jewel Finance will be Reuben’s 2023 player partner.
