Ba Women win despite Naitasiri’s valiant effort

Ba Women’s team nailed a massive 7-0 win over Tailevu Naitasiri in the second round of the Women’s Super League.

The women in Black started strong with Ba’s Aliza Hussein breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute through a sensational direct free-kick, arcing the ball just inches below the crossbar.

Sisilia Kuladina widened the gap five minutes later, sending the ball home from the sideline.

Lavenia Nairoqo and Elesi Tabunase continued the onslaught, netting goals in the 27th and 36th minutes, respectively.

Nairoqo completed her brace two minutes later, followed swiftly by a strike from team skipper Luisa Tamani.

Hussein rounded off the scoring frenzy with another goal in the 43rd minute

On the flip side, Naitasiri’s youthful squad displayed a commendable defensive game.

Standouts like Kasanita Tabua and Seruwaia Laulaba in the backline were instrumental in thwarting numerous Ba advances.

Ba vs Tailevu Naitasiri

In the face of Ba’s seasoned campaigners, Naitasiri’s #9 Aachal Kissun displayed her mettle, especially in her spirited duels with renowned Fiji National team and Ba defender Angeline Rekha.

Young Mereani Laqere, Naitasiri’s number #3 also showed persistence and tenacity, continually challenging Ba’s seasoned defensive line.

In the end, while Ba’s victory was decisive, the narrative was as much about Naitasiri’s spirited defense and the promising display of its emerging talents.
