Former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will remain the Leader of the FijiFirst Party, irrespective of what sentence is passed by the Magistrates Court in Suva on Thursday.
This has been confirmed by former Party General-Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Sayed-Khaiyum in a video statement said everyone has become the court, lawyer, Police, investigators, and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions commenting on what is going to happen.
He said that this is a dangerous thing and is unacceptable.
“I do not want to bring myself down to the gutter level and into a speculative environment that we currently live in. Everyone has to wait on due process and see what will happen on Thursday,” Sayed-Khaiyum said.
He said a lot of rumor-mongering is happening with regards to Bainimarama and suspended Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho’s case.
“Let us just wait for the outcome on Thursday,” he added.
