Closing order for non-compliant Makoi shop

Health Inspectors from the Food Unit in the Ministry of Health & Medical Services issued a closing order for a shop in Makoi on Friday afternoon.

The closing order was issued for non-compliance of basic food hygiene practices and storage.

The Ministry of Health & Medical Services is advising shopkeepers and food business operators around the country to follow basic food hygiene practices and food storage practices as stipulated in the Food Safety Act 2003 or face a fine or even closure.
