The Naitasiri senior men’s rugby team, fresh from a 25-19 victory over Tailevu is setting its sights on an unbeaten 2024 Skipper Cup season with the addition of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flanker Motikiai Murray.
Skipper Asiveli Rokoua acknowledged Murray’s inclusion and the depth he brings to the team.
“We are thankful to have Motikiai included in the game day squad. He has contributed a lot to the team in terms of what he has learned from the Drua camp,” he told FRU Media.
Reflecting on the closely contested match against Tailevu, Rokoua said the match was challenging but saw it as a valuable stepping stone.
“Tailevu has always been a challenging team to play against. We learned a big lesson, and I am proud of our young players who stepped up,” he said.
With a focus on ironing out weaknesses, especially in defense, the team is preparing for their next challenge against Nadroga at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
Other fixtures in the round include Nadi vs Namosi at Prince Charles Park, Lautoka against Macuata at Churchill Park, Suva facing Yasawa at Bidesi Park, and Ba hosting Tailevu at Vinod Patel Ground.
