FASANOC launch lottery for CYG and PG

The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) has launched a lottery project to help raise money to help send the nation’s athletes to the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games and Pacific Games later this year.

The draw will be held on August 25, 2023.

The top prize will be a Toyota Hilux valued at $77,000 with other prizes including Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, and two nights at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and the Tanoa Plaza Hotel.

2021 Olympic Games signed Fiji and Fijiana 7s jerseys, $250 worth of sports merchandise from JR White and one 25HP Outboard Engine are also up for grabs

The Commonwealth Youth Games will be held in Trinidad and Tobago while the Pacific Games will be in Honiara in the Solomon Islands.

More than 400 athletes will participate at Solomon Islands 2023 across a number of sports, including archery, athletics, basketball including 3×3, boxing, football, golf, hockey, judo, karate, netball, outrigger canoeing, powerlifting, rugby league nines, rugby sevens, sailing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, touch rugby, triathlon, volleyball, beach volleyball and weightlifting.

Team Fiji will also send a total of athletes 45 for the Commonwealth Youth Games participating in athletics, cycling, swimming, rugby and triathlon.

The lottery was launched by Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth & Sports Rovereto Nayacalevu.

Lottery tickets cost $5 per leaf and $50 for a full book with the closing date on August 12, 2023, before the draw on August 25, 2023.
