Fiji ready for OFC tourney next week

The Digicel Fiji U15 Girls are ready to take the stage at the upcoming OFC U15 Girls’ Youth Development Tournament at Churchill Park, Lautoka next week.

The final squad of 16 has moved their camp to Fiji Football Ba Academy after a rigorous three-week training session in Fiji FA Vatuwaqa to finalize their preparations.

Coach Louisa Simmons, a former Labasa and national team midfielder says many girls will be experiencing national level football for the first time and are eager to make Fiji proud.

“I am confident in the team’s abilities and the positive atmosphere created by the coaching staff.”

“Our goal is not only to participate but also to perform well and achieve positive results that will set a benchmark for the future.”

“The team is determined to make Fiji proud and showcase their talent on the international stage,” said Simmons.

The Fiji U15 girls’ team will face Samoa this Monday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The match starts at 4pm and entry is free for all attendees.
