Fiji FA launches women’s CVC

The Fiji Football Association has announced the launch of the women’s Pillay Garments Champions Versus Champions which will be played next month in Suva.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel revealed this during a press conference at their headquarters in Vatuwaqa, Suva today.

Digicel women’s Super League winners Labasa will play against Digicel Inter District Champions Ba in a one- off match at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 1pm on Feb 12.

The winner will walk away with $2,500 while the runner-up will receive $1,250.

Patel said this was something that has been part of the Association’s plan in expanding women’s competition locally and providing more platforms for women in football.

“For the women, we are paying everything. From the preparation grant to the transportation, to the meals, camping and everything to reach the stadium. We pay everything for the women to participate in this.”

“All the expenses are covered by the Fiji FA so that is the whole reason we are hosting it.” he said.
