Communicate and guide children, Police urge parents

Police are urging parents and guardians to continuously talk and provide the necessary guidance to their children so that they can make informed decisions on their own.

As the end of Term One approaches and while major sporting and social activities for students will follow, Fiji Police Force spokesperson Ana Naisoro said communication between children and their parents is key.

“Police officers with the help of stakeholders have been visiting schools, talking about issues of concern ahead of their much deserved two-week break, and we ask that the process be continued at home,” she said.

“Communication is key – and we also ask that a safe space is created for children to be able to freely talk about issues affecting their young lives.”
