Vodafone Fijiana 15’s winger Iva Sauira, made her debut in a local provincial tournament representing Yasawa in the ANZ Marama Senior Competition.
This makes it her first experience playing in such conditions in Fiji, contributing to Yasawa’s commanding 48-0 victory over Tailevu.
“It was good to have a run around here in Fiji, first time running on these type of grounds with this kind of weather conditions. It was a good experience being here, we stayed in a village, first time for me to experience how they play rugby here in these tournaments locally,” she told Fiji Rugby media.
The ANZ Marama Senior Competition saw other exciting matches over the weekend, including Nasinu facing off against Suva with a final score of 14-31, and Lautoka narrowly losing to Namosi, 12-13.
